ETFO has negotiated central agreements on behalf of its teacher/occasional teacher and education worker members since the implementation of the School Boards Collective Bargaining Act in April 2014:
On November 2, 2015 ETFO reached its first tentative Teacher/Occasional Teacher Central Agreement with the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA) and the Crown (i.e., Government of Ontario). The Agreement was subsequently ratified by ETFO Teacher/OT locals and members on November 13, 2015.
On November 27, 2015 ETFO reached its first tentative Education Worker Central Agreement with the Council of Trustees’ Associations (CTA) and the Crown which was subsequently ratified by ETFO DECE/ESP/PSP locals and members on December 11, 2015.
In January-February 2017, ETFO conducted negotiations with the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA) and the Council of Trustees’ Associations (CTA) and the Crown to extend ETFO Teacher, Occasional Teacher, DECE, ESP and PSP 2014-2017 collective agreements. The 2017-2019 Teacher/Occasional Teacher and Education Worker Extension Agreements were ratified by members and locals on March 4, 2017.
On March 20, 2020, ETFO reached a tentative Teacher/Occasional Teacher Central Agreement with the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association (OPSBA) and the Crown (i.e., Government of Ontario), as well as a tentative Education Worker Central Agreement with the Council of Trustees’ Associations (CTA) and the Crown.
The Agreements were subsequently ratified by ETFO members on April 28, 2020.
On September 22, 2023, ETFO reached a tentative Education Worker Central Agreement with the Council of Trustees’ Associations (CTA) and the Crown. The Agreement was subsequently ratified by ETFO Education Worker members on October 23, 2023.
On November 21, 2023, ETFO reached a tentative Teacher/Occasional Teacher Central Agreement with the Ontario Public School Boards’ Association and the Crown. The Agreement was subsequently ratified by ETFO Teacher/OT members on December 15, 2023.
